Safety Awareness Training Course
Safety awareness is a fairly nebulous subject. It often means different things to different people and seldom do you find an organisation that has taken the time and effort to clearly explain what safety awareness means and what the organisation is trying to achieve by improving it.
This training course addresses these fundamental issues. The course captures and clearly explains the true essence of safety awareness.
COURSE AIM
The aim of this training course is to increase the level of safety awareness.

SESSION 1. The Course Introduction
The course commences with a series of lateral thinking exercises. These are designed to help the participants recognise the scope of safety awareness within the organisation and to help them see that safety awareness is an integral component of most individual activities.
SESSION 2. Defining Safety Awareness
This session clearly defines what safety awareness is. It defines it on two distinct levels, the personal level and the organisational level.
SESSION 3. How to Improve Safety Awareness
This session looks at how to improve safety awareness. It does this by involving the participants in two experiential learning exercises. The first one looks at some of the many ways to improve safety awareness on a personal level. The second exercise emphasises to the participants how important it is for them to know and understand the ‘big picture’ in terms of safety and to be able to identify what they need to be aware of (and do) in order to achieve a safety goal on an organisational level.
SESSION 4. The Course Review and Concluding Exercise
The last session reviews all the important points made during the course. The participants are then involved in a final exercise. Here they are asked to focus on and document where they think a serious accident could occur in the workplace and what they feel is the single most important thing that would (or could) dramatically improve the organisation’s safety performance.
