It is fundamentally important that anyone who is involved in the transportation, use or storage of hazardous substances is able to read and understand the safety information contained on a Material Safety Data Sheet.  The ability of each individual to read and interpret the information contained on an MSDS is critical.

WHAT'S IN THE PACKAGE: 

The package contains a Training Course, Videotape and CD.

 

The Course is a fully scripted 4 hour training session broken into 5 sessions.  Each session combines  together to provide your  workforce with the necessary information to interpret the critical information contained in an MSDS.

 

The CD is broken into 3 sections:

 

-        There are a set of ‘handouts’ that has a glossary of 500+ Medical

          terms, a further glossary containing over 400 Chemical and

          Technical Terms, a detailed list of 168 abbreviations used in

          Toxicology and a section that contains a list of General Safety

          Information listing abbreviations and acronyms, low flashpoint

          chemicals, vapor densities of common gases and vapors and a

          list of Risk Phrases and a list of Safety Phrases.

 

-         Also the CD contains 17 full color graphics of the overheads used

          in the course.

 

-         Plus a series of PowerPoint presentations that can be used as a

          refresher, or in toolbox meetings.

 

The video is an 18 minute production which provides an overview of what an MSDS is.  It also examines the basic layout and looks at the key sections and important terms contained in an MSDS.
